Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) is a set of procedures required to securely create digital signatures and organizations rely on PKI to manage security through encryption. Each digital transaction uses a public Key and a private key. The public key which is openly available and anyone can simply use to encrypt and validate the use the signers electronic signature. The Private key is a secret key which is not shared with others and only one person will be able to use and e-sign documents. PKI enforces other requirements such as certificate authorities, tools for keys, enrollment software, certificate management and enables users to authenticate digital certificate users.
